9 April 2007 Ride Report – A Medieval Easter Leader: Nick Canham With this ride taking place on a bank holiday Monday morning, the question was would anyone be mad enough to spend their day off, post-easter gorge, cycling to Penarth and back. Thankfully with the sun coming out, so did the cyclists and we had the largest group to date. Nick led everyone through Riverside, Butetown, the new Sports Vilage and with none of the potential difficulties, along Cogan Spur. Penarth Seafront provided ice cream refreshment, whilst a rear puncture proved to be a nightmare to rectify, requiring two pumps and three inner tubes to complete the task! Cosmeston Park offered a variety of activities including opportunities to tour the park by bike and also a visit to the Medieval Village to observe traditional crafts. A leisurely pace through Sully and returning to Cardiff via part of the newly-developed Ely Trail, the perfect ending was a well-deserved drink in the Mochyn Du Pub where we could relax after all of our pedalling and look forward to the next adventure.
