7 January 2007 Sully Ride. Ride report Leader: Nigel Canterbury Five of us went on this fascinating ride where the first stop was on the trail between Leckwith Hill and Penarth Road. We stopped to scavenge for Victorian treasures in the old dumps along the way. We found a few interesting broken glass bottles and bits of pottery. The Concrete Gun Bunkers at Lavernock were equally fascinating. We left the bikes and hiked a few hundred metres to the Bunkers and explored them, and the startling graffitti on the walls, before cycling down - with sea and Sully Island at our side - for a well-earned drink and food at the excellent Captain's Wife pub on the seafront. Back home through Cosmeston Park. Sheila Johnson
