5 August 2007 Forest Farm Ride leader: Germaine Walsh All my years of living in Cardiff, I'd never explored Forest Farm, so this was a great opportunity to find out what's there. Situated near the Taff Trail in Whitchurch, it's a fairly large nature reserve with a network of paths. The old Glamorganshire Canal runs through it, and there are also reed-fringed ponds to attract birdlife. We spend some time in one of the (heavily-graffitied) hides, from which we spotted a heron fishing. After pushing our bikes around the reserve for twenty minutes or so (cycling is prohibited), we headed over to the Gelynis Fruit Farm for brunch in the sun. Nick Canham
