Forest Farm

All my years of living in Cardiff, I'd never explored Forest Farm, so this 
was a great opportunity to find out what's there. Situated near the Taff 
Trail in Whitchurch, it's a fairly large nature reserve with a network of 
paths. The old Glamorganshire Canal runs through it, and there are also 
reed-fringed ponds to attract birdlife. We spend some time in one of the 
(heavily-graffitied) hides, from which we spotted a heron fishing.

After pushing our bikes around the reserve for twenty minutes or so (cycling 
is prohibited), we headed over to the Gelynis Fruit Farm for brunch in the 
sun.
